Okay, I know that as a progressive Democrat I should wish for nothing less than a Democratic sweep in Missouri elections. And with one small exception, I am.Chris Koster.
Chris was certainly a moderate to progressive Republican, but I still have no idea what a Koster Attorney General’s office will look like. He’s taken (more than) his fair share of donations from unions, but he’s also gotten contributions from Republican donors such as Rex Sinquefield.
He voted several times to oppose Medicaid restoration. Until his party jump, he opposed reproductive choice, with a few exceptions.
Now, I know that Michael Gibbons has the same history of conservative voting, but at least he didn’t attempt to run as a Democrat.
I could write in the name of a more consistently progressive Democrat like Margaret Donnelly, but without a serious, state-wide write in effort, that vote might as well go to Gibbons.
So, here’s what I’ve decided to do. I’m going to cruise through the rest of the ballot happily voting for Democrats down the line. Then, I’ll come back to the Attorney General’s race, hold my nose and cast my vote for the former Republican.

You raise some good points. Gibbons is terrible. Presided over some really bad stuff in the Senate. Of course Koster was leadership there also and I just fear what kind of damage he could do to our party. From personal experience, I just don't believe he can be trusted. I have thought a lot about this but I am going to hold my nose and vote for Gibbons. And encourage Margaret to whip him in four years.

I still don't see the leap in logic it takes to cast a vote for Chris Koster.
I'm sure that Gibbons will be a terrible AG, but I don't see that Koster will be any better.
Maybe, just maybe, a true Democrat (who doesn't have to put up a fake candidate to get elected) will come along in four years and beat Gibbons. I can't see that happening with Koster in a primary.

I will be voting Gibbons for AG and Ernie Griffin for Jackson County Sheriff.
The only Republican I have voted for in the past was Ronald Reagan for obvious reasons. But that will change soon. At least Gibbons and Griffin are honest about being Republicans. The so-called Democrat nominees running against them are not honest.
Koster is an opportunist who switched parties when he saw the landslide coming. He will use every chance he gets to undermine public education and teachers unions on behalf of his sponsor: Right-Wing Rex.
Mike Sharp is still a Republican who ran as Democrat because there are way more Dems than Republicans in Jackson County. He bought the office with money he was paid in the sale of a scab-made and installed carpet business.
Sharp is unfit for duty because he is a sex addict and an abuser who had to be restrained from beating his girlfriend by Independence Police last spring. The girlfriend who at one time was a stripper and porno "actress" was so shook up by Sharp's attack that she tried to kill herself several times. Think this is made up? Just check with the Independence Police Department and see if there was not a domestic altercation at the home of one Cindy Sloane. Or better yet call and ask for her at the engineering firm Tetratech 412-1741, you might also ask about her movie career.
Sharp's first wife threw him out when he tried to force her to sleep with other women, and he hit on their oldest daughter. Again just check the divorce records.
Try to guess why Sharp when he was a so-called murder detective (coffee-fetcher for real cops) volunteered to work cases dealing with prostitution and problems at Ta Ta bars? Who was caught by real officers jacking off in a squad car outside of a Knobtown strip-o-teria? Now Chief Corwin I wonder why the report on that little incident recently disappeared?
If you are going to vote for a Republican, vote for real Republicans rather than wasting your vote on second-rate liars and violent predator perverts.
